On the 18th of November, 2011, my class continued working with drawing the human figure. Today we had another female model. We spent the entire day practicing quick gestures using triangulation, s-curves, and other techniques. All in all, we drew at least a hundred drawings of the female figure that day.
When sketching the human figure, I prefer to use just construction lines and basic shapes such as ovals and circles to start out. Triangulation, and s-curves, wire frame, and elliptical drawing can be too abstract or time consuming for my tastes.
Here are two pages of gestures. The first page is of course full of longer sketches, with each being about five minutes each. They use axis lines. The second batch of drawings took about two minutes each. The focus for that page was the s-curve technique.
