Rosey Sunset

2010. Oil pastel.

Rosey Sunset is an oil pastel painting that was done in 2010 for my Portfolio Art II class.There were no rules or limitations required for the project.

The painting features a valley with a river flowing down to the ocean. The river flows over a waterfall. Flowers grow in the grassy fields. The red light of sunset coats the mountains and clouds around it.

I painted this piece because of my love of nature. I love drawing landscapes and waterscapes, and I love working with color. This painting combined both of my passions.

This is one of my all time favorite art pieces. The colors are stunning, and it is just so peaceful, relaxing, and in away, romantic. It has a certain charm to it that I just adore.
