A Still Life or Two

 I am a little way into my Intro to Drawing College course. After a few thousand scribbles, or so called, "blind contours" and "gestures" the class was instructed to draw still life in charcoal. Several objects were laid out on a white sheet over a large black, cubical table.

The teacher taught about horizon lines and ellipses as well as how to draw objects symmetrical. We learned how to use reference points and negative space to help form object.  The instruction was quite helpful, but unfortunately, it is not as easy to pick up on symmetry when you're close up. These small thumbnails make me realize how absolutely horrible I am at drawing spheres-- next time I better bring a compass!
