A Lone Rose

2010. Oil pastel.

A Lone Rose is a 2010 oil pastel painting done for my Portfolio Development II class. It was a free choice project which took about one class period to complete.

The painting features one rose, with no thorns and a single leaf, all on a black background.

The subject was drawn for a simple photography reference. It served as observation practice and to help reduce stress from artist block.
